Camping trip to visit Moore Stonehouse and Camping at The Grand Hotel, Wooroolin.

This trip was organised by Emily Laverie with a visit to the Moore Stonehouse. The stonehouse is a group of related stone buildings on the D'Aguilar Highway, formerly part of the old coach road between Esk and Nanango, which were built in the 1870s and 1880s as part of a homestead and wayside inn complex. The land on which the complex was built had been part of a pastoral run called "Colinton", which was taken up by John and Robert B.(Stonehouse, Moore - Wikipedia)

Under the threat of rain, Pam and I moved onto Wooroolin to set up camp ready for the others to arrive. The rest of the trip went and visited Moore Stonehouse. Trent, teena and Josh Loxton soon turned up, and we managed to get them set up in some light rain. The rest turned up, and we managed to get the campsite all set up without too much trouble.

We moved to The Grand Hotel Wooroolin (THE Grand Hotel Wooroolin | Opening Hours, Bistro & Gaming )and had a great time playing pool, having a great meal, drinks and great conversation.

The next day, we packed up and headed back to Brisbane. On the way, some of us visited the Mount Wooroolin lookout, the lavender farm Kingaroy ((18) Facebook) and then the Booie Bora Aboriginal ceremonial ground.

Although we had wind and rain over the weekend, a great time was had by all.

Thanks to Emily for organising the weekend.
