Cooyar Pub Camping Weekend

Join us for an awesome pub camping experience at Cooyar.  

For those that can, we will camp on Friday night at Linville pub - only about 5km down the road from Moore.

All others can meet at Moore at 9am Saturday morning.

We will camp at the free camp behind the Cooyar Pub - Swinging Bridge Park.  

Swinging Bridge Park is well worth a visit if you're venturing out Cooyar way. Nestled on the bank high above Cooyar Creek, the parkland impresses with its namesake suspension bridge.

Whether you're a day-tripper or an overnight camper, the park's electric barbecue and covered seating areas will help make your stay a comfortable one. Toilet facilities are located just a short stroll away at the Cooyar Memorial Park.

We will also visit the nearby Muntapa Tunnel - Queensland’s longest straight railway tunnel (287m). It is also quite high being 640m above sea level.

Now that trains don’t roar through it the tunnel is a seasonal home to a colony of bent winged bats.

A fence has been installed part way in from both entrances to protect the bat colony.

And a visit to The Palms National Park - The Palms is a small national park located between Cooyar and Yarraman in Queensland, Australia. The main feature of the park is spring-fed gully filled with piccabeen palms
