Beautiful Besty

Meeting 6am at the BP Northbound at Morayfield with a couple of stops along the way to strecth our legs and to have a drink and eat.

We will be camping at the Monto Caravan & Cabin Park. They have unpowered, Powered sites and cabins available.

While our main trip is too see Beautiful Besty we will also be visiting other sites around Monto

• Albert Hotel for a cold beer and Dinner
• Dragon and Bloodwood Caves
• Shamrock Mine Site
• Clark Bartlett
• Cania Dam Lookout

Come and see Beautiful Besty and her crews last resting place. Please note the walking track is 1.6kms each way.

Beautiful Besty was not discovered for another 49yrs after Liberator crashed.

"Beautiful Betsy", B24 Liberator Bomber went missing sometime after 3am on 26 February 1945 with the loss of 8 lives (6 American and 2 British service personnel).

The Liberator was on a Fat Cat mission from Fenton to Eagle Farm airfield.

We will also be travelling the infamous Razorback Track through Kroombit Tops National Park.
