It was a good turn out for go carts. A total of 9 drivers and about 6 spectators. There were two 15 minute races where the drivers took to the course to see who had the need for speed. Eddie was one of the favourites to take out the championship however we had a few speed demons on the track. Both Trent, Peter and Daniel shredded the track and gave Eddie a run for his money. When the first 15 minutes was up everyone was treated to a BBQ lunch provided by the club. While our drivers were on the track our President was busy cooking up a feed for the hungry participants. Once fed they hit the track for the last time with everyone going faster than before. Too fast for Daniel’s cart though! His brakes malfunctioned and he had to stop and switch his carts. The girls were way out-numbered in this event but we did have two who gave it a good go. We would have had three however after a fall at netball I was too sore to drive. Nathan was a little disappointed as we had a side bet going as to who was going to lose and have to wear the winners State of Origin Jersey. Next time Mossy! We had many spin outs, dragging, close calls and “off-roading”. All in all it was a fun day out and everyone had a ball! Can’t wait to do it again soon.
