We had 8 cars that left the Kallangur Maccas at 8:30 after many of us replenished our coffee and burger addictions. This trip introduces new people to the club. 2 cars infact. A Jeep containing David and Sharon and a Colorado belonging to Garry and Kerry Anne. We are looking forward to seeing these guys on future events. We then headed south west for the Flanagan’s Reserve camp grounds. En route we got a look at quite a few out of the way places. Finally we got back on track and headed to the Yamato Maccas. Again to replenish our various addictions. We took an afternoon drive up Waterfall Creek road, a rather steep climb, which was completed with out drama, with fantastic Panos as our rewards at the summit. Camped that night with far to much fire wood. On Sunday morning we left the camp grounds and a pile of firewood behind. Commencing a 130 km drive to the Mary falls, stopping for a quick visit to the Maroon dam. MDORC TALK PAGE 6 Stopping briefly at the Mary Falls, some took a quick walk while others sat and enjoyed the hospitality of the local cafe. An hour later we set of for Killarney and the beginning of the 14 rivers crossing road. The main object of the trip. Second water crossing in and we had our first casualty, a Jeep. SURPRISE!! Anyway after another 12 river crossings we parted ways and all safely returned home. Have to say we all had a great weekend, and the planning and preparation that went into this trip was second to none. Thanks Leighanne and Tiny for another great weekend. Now back to work, sigh. Oh, by the way. The broken down Jeep belonged to our guests, David and Sharon, not Leighanne.
