We all met at Col Fischer Park around 9am to try our hand at staying upright on a paddle board. The weather was sunny and warm and the tide was out so the water wasn’t too deep for us beginners. There were 6 brave couples plus dogs and kids. Dave Meir was trip leader as he has a lot of experience paddle boarding. Dave went through the basics with us and then we headed down towards the water for some fun. Well after a few shaky stances we all got on and had a paddle. I must say we all did very well and there were only a few falls, mostly with the help of spouses pushing hahaha (not mentioning any names Simon!!) Its surprising how all the boards handle differently, depending on length and the material used to build the board. The kids had a lot of fun on the boards and also had fun splashing around in the water. There were also 4 very spoilt dogs there who all had a blast chasing the ball and splashing around. One cheeky pup even hopped on with Dave for a paddle!! After a while we headed back to the gazebo for a cold drink and a sausage sizzle lunch. Was a fun morning and thanks to Dave again for volunteering his boards and experience to the club for a fun morning.
